A skinny little pup was discovered on the streets of Dallas, Texas, the little guy was in poor condition and clinging to life. His condition was worrisome and the Dallas Dog RRR rescuers knew they had no time to lose, so they decided to take him to the medical center immediately.

The cub could barely lift his head and opened his eyes a little, unbelievably weighing only 1.8 pounds, and it was evident that he was struggling to live.

They named the pup Stuart, and at the time they thought he was a chihuahua because of his size, but to everyone’s surprise, he was actually a pit bull.

Puppy Weighing 1.8 Pounds Surprisingly Recovers

His state of health was so bad that he did not even look like a pit bull puppy, since he was very small and his malnutrition was remarkable.

At the medical center, it was necessary to perform several tests on Stuart, in order to know the diseases he could suffer from and treat his condition.

Stuart’s blood work came back disappointing, he was so anemic from fleas and ticks that he urgently needed a blood transfusion. The little puppy’s first two days were critical and worrying, he seemed to have no conscience and was constantly losing his mind.

His delicate condition did not improve, but the rescuers were willing to do everything possible and fight to save the little boy’s life.

Fortunately, within five days Stuart began to show a little improvement, and a woman named Susan wanted to give him a foster home.

The little boy seemed to be very happy in Susan’s house, but it was still clear that he was struggling to continue living. Susan said that Stuart appeared to be very tired, drowsy, with his head down, and would usually sleep for many hours.

Several days passed after Susan brought Stuart home, and he began to act like a normal puppy and seemed to be feeling better. The news was a joy to all, and surely a great victory in the little journey of Stuart’s short life.

Little Stuart’s health recovered fully as the days went by.

“I’m eating well and slowly gaining weight so overall I feel great and I absolutely LOVE my adoptive family!”

Susan’s brother Shane decided to visit his sister in order to meet Stuart and find out if adoption was possible. When they saw each other, there was an immediate connection between them, Stuart climbed on the sofa where Shane rested and laid his head on his chest.

At that precise moment, Shane realized that he should adopt Stuart because fate had brought them together to be life partners.

Now the little pup who once clung to life and struggled to get by had a forever home.

Stuart grew up very quickly and healthily, becoming the most beautiful and gentle pitbull in the world.

Shane lives in Austin, where the breed is allowed, so he walks Stuart pretty much everywhere; they are inseparable.

Stuart was called ‘Shiner’ by his father, they have daily adventures together; he loves going to his favorite place and loves spending time with his dad.
