A cheeky dog gave its owner a “heart attack” when he performed an Oscar-worthy performance in convincing props.
Coco the Golden Retriever video went viral after the owner shared the emotional moment on Chinese social media app Douyin and garnered 3.1 million likes.
In the short video, the owner from the city of Guangzhou in southeast China finds Coco on a concrete wall with blood stains on her snout and on the floor.
The dog refuses to flinch and waits for its owner to approach.
Fearing that the dog is dead, the panicked owner slowly walks to Coco, and suddenly the animal wakes up and looks at its owner.
He later found out that Coco had eaten the exotic dragon fruit and the juice had spread over his fur coat.
The owner wrote: “Sorry, I thought … I’m sorry!”
Viewers were left behind when they realized the golden retriever was playing dead and cheating on the owner.
One commented: “I almost cried, thank God, Coco is not dead!”
A second wrote: “You can tell how much he loves to eat dragon fruit, he ate half of it!”
“Coco has been brought back to life, it’s amazing,” added a third. “The dog reaction is golden.”
The owner later shared a video of Coco chewing the dragon fruit and declaring, “This is Coco’s favorite!”
